BMW M3 Touring 24H
After the launch of the BMW M3 Touring in 2022, BMW M Motorsport began toying with the idea of a racing version.
The turning point came in an unexpected way — an April Fool’s joke. On April 1, 2025, BMW M Motorsport shared images of a fictional M3 Touring GT race car on social media. The post went viral, reaching over a million users and generating huge engagement. Encouraged by the response, BMW made the project a reality that summer.
In just eight months, engineers built the BMW M3 Touring 24H — now gearing up for the 2026 Nürburgring 24 Hours.
It’s a car built for the fans who asked for it — and BMW delivered.

The technical specifications of the BMW M3 Touring 24H and the BMW M4 GT3 EVO are identical.
YOU DREAMED IT. WE BUILT IT.
The BMW M3 Touring 24H proudly carries its slogan along the sides:
“You dreamed it. We built it.”
Fans’ emotional reactions to the April Fool’s post inspired this message. The car features BMW M Motorsport’s signature camouflage wrap and the #WeBuiltIt hashtag across the roof. Its illuminated kidney grille, like the one on the M Hybrid V8, adds a distinctive touch. The M3 Touring 24H will race in this design for all warm-up events before debuting a special livery for the 24-hour showdown in the “Green Hell.”
The deployment of the BMW M3 Touring 24H at the 24 Hours of Nürburgring is a pure BMW M Motorsport works entry.
The long-standing partner Schubert Motorsport acts as the team. The crew led by team principal Torsten Schubert has extensive experience both on the Nordschleife and with the BMW M4 GT3 EVO. In 2022 and 2024, Schubert Motorsport was team champion in the DTM. Four BMW M works drivers will be in the cockpit of the BMW M3 Touring 24H.
